Matthäus Mittermeier

Matthäus Mittermeier (born September 27, 1864 in Haunersdorf ; † March 22, 1939 in Niederhausen ) was a landowner, brewery owner, mayor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Mittermeier attended the elementary school in Haunersdorf and the secondary school in Straubing until 1881. After some practice in brewery and agriculture in his parents 'business, he attended three courses for brewing in Munich and Weihenstephan and took over his parents' property in 1888. Since 1900 he was mayor of his home community for 33 years, for several years district council, 1st chairman of the agricultural district association Landau , member of the agricultural district committee of Lower Bavaria and since 1902 also a member of the German agricultural council .

From 1903 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Niederbayern 2 ( Straubing , Bogen , Landau, Vilshofen ) and the Bavarian farmers' union . After an electoral agreement with the National Liberals, he was set up in 1903 as an “agrarian-liberal compromise candidate”.

Mittermeier was appointed honorary mayor of Haunersdorf.
