Matthew Halsall

Matthew Halsall (born September 11, 1983 in Manchester ) is a British jazz musician ( trumpet , composition ) and band leader . "In his music, he is very impressively linked to the spiritual jazz of people like John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders ."

Live and act

With Sending My Love (2008), Halsall released his debut album on his own label Gondwana Records , followed by Color Yes in 2009. His third album, On the Go , which was released in 2011, won the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Winners Award and in 2011 for the MOBO Awards nominated.

In 2012, Halsall presented his fourth album with Fletcher Moss Park ; In 2014, When the World Was One was released , which he recorded with his eight-piece Gondwana Orchestra . It became iTunes Jazz Album of 2014. In 2015 he released Into Forever and in 2016 the remix of On the Go . According to Tom Lord , he was involved in 17 recording sessions in the field of jazz between 2008 and 2017, in addition to his own productions with Nat Birchall and Chip Wickham .
