Matthias Bleyer (born August 1, 1969 in Oberpullendorf in Burgenland ) is an Austrian football player who grew up as the third of six children in Draßmarkt . At the age of seven he started playing football at SV Draßmarkt.

Life

At the age of 15, the young athlete was discovered by Hans Faymann and brought to the Burgenland performance center. His first sporting positions were at SC Eisenstadt (from 1988) and the Wiener Sportklub (from 1990). In 1989 Matthias Bleyer was the top scorer at the BFV Hallenmasters with 17 goals. His sporting path led him to the highest Austrian league, the Bundesliga , before he returned to his sporting roots to work as a player-coach for his home club.
