founding

The association was founded in 1910 by the football section of up bowling club favorites as favorite Athletic Club made independently. On December 21, 1910, he was accepted into the association at a meeting of the Austrian Football Association and assigned to the 2nd class in Vienna. It had already been entered in the register of associations on August 1, 1910 under the name Favoritner Athletik-Sport-Club , or Favoritner ASC for short .

Men's soccer

After a few years in the 2nd class and the association change to VAFÖ in 1926, the Favoritner AC played again in the general association after the VAFÖ was banned in the 1934/35 season and was integrated into the II.Liga Gruppe Nord for those in the 2nd performance level .

Promptly they won the championship title and won the promotion games against SK Slovan Vienna from the II. League Group South in addition with 4: 3. In the years 1936 to 1938 they played in the top Austrian league for the first time. The FavAC is not to be confused with the Favoritner Sportclub, the champions of the II. League (before the VAFÖ was banned without group division) of the 1933/34 season, a club that ironically played the FavAC's promotion season 1934/35 from the top Austrian division had to relegate and got out of the 2nd class II.Liga Nord after only 6 games during the 1935/36 season.

After relegation in 1938, the first division could only be reached in the years 1983 to 1985. These two game seasons as well as the rapid rise with 3 championship titles between the seasons 1976/77 to 1980/81 from the 4th class Viennese city league to the 2nd division (2nd performance level) brought the FavAC a great popularity in Vienna. After the 2 seasons in the 1st performance level, the pressure was in the new play-off mode of the 1985/86 season and after 4 years in the top two divisions, the club had to go back to the difficult path in the third division, the Regionalliga Ost, tread.

In 1990/91 they were promoted again and the club remained in the 2nd division for the next three years. The achievement of the ÖFB-Pokal semifinals in the 1991/92 and 1992/93 seasons and the victory of the Vienna Stadthallenturnier 1992/93 will not be forgotten. In the 1993/94 season the relegation to the Regionalliga Ost (3rd level) took place, while in 1994/95 the promotion succeeded immediately.

The second year playing in the 2nd division, the FavAC had to stop playing in the 1996/97 season due to financial problems after the autumn season and accept the forced relegation to the third-class Regionalliga Ost.

In the following season 1997/98, a syndicate with the 1st Simmeringer SC - the 5th of the city league 1996/97 season - so designed the Simmering as SG FavAC / Simmering in the Regionalliga Ost (3rd level) played and played the FavAC de facto provided the second team of the 1st Simmeringer SC in the city league (4th performance level) under its own name. However, both teams were relegated and the syndicate was dissolved. The 1st Simmeringer SC thus played in the city league in 1998/99 and the FavAC had to go to the Oberliga A (5th level).

In the 2001/02 season, after the club's 90th anniversary, the club was promoted to the Vienna City League (4th level), where the FavAC is still active today (2019/20).
