Matthias Brückmann

Matthias Brückmann (born February 21, 1962 in Heidelberg ) is a German manager .

Life

Brückmann has been with the MVV Energie Group since 2000, initially as Head of Marketing and Sales, and from 2003 to 2007 he was CEO of the subsidiary Energieversorgung Offenbach . Before moving to EWE in July 2013, Brückmann was a member of the Management Board responsible for sales, the environment, energy services and trading for six years. At EWE AG, Brückmann initially held the position of Chief Sales Officer. In 2015, he succeeded Werner Brinker as CEO. In addition to his work at EWE AG, Brückmann was also on the board of swb AG until January 2015 .

Brückmann was CEO of EWE AG in Oldenburg from 2015 to 2017 .

Due to a donation from EWE to the Klitschko Foundation of 253,000 euros initiated by Brückmann, which was not discussed with the Supervisory Board, as well as further allegations that were brought to the EWE Supervisory Board by an anonymous informant, the EWE Supervisory Board made a decision in February 2017 AG the dismissal of Brückmann. In mid-January 2020, the public prosecutor's office in Oldenburg charged Brückmann with breach of trust and violation of EWE's corporate guidelines with regard to the donation to the Klitschko Foundation. He is also accused of having invited private guests at EWE's company expense.

Since July 1, 2019, Brückmann has been the managing director of the international project developer and energy service provider Wircon GmbH in Mannheim.
