Matthias Gelbmann

Matthias Gelbmann (born April 5, 1948 in Andau ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1999 to 2010 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Gelbmann attended the elementary school in Andau and the secondary school in Frauenkirchen before he learned the profession of plumber and completed his training with the journeyman's examination. Gelbmann has been employed as a fitter at the Northern Burgenland Water Management Association since 1982.

Gelbmann joined the SPÖ in 1969 and has been SPÖ local party chairman in Andau since 1984. He became a member of the municipal council for the first time in 1977, was a member of the municipal executive committee from 1985 to 1987 and held the office of 1st vice mayor between 1987 and 1992. In 1992, Gelbmann was elected Mayor of Andau. In addition, in 1999, Gelbmann was appointed deputy district chairman of the SPÖ Neusiedl am See .

Gelbmann represented the SPÖ in the state parliament from November 4, 1999 and was area spokesman for energy, waste management and water management in the SPÖ state parliament club. After the state elections in Burgenland in 2010 , Gelbmann resigned from the state parliament on June 24, 2010.

Gelbmann is married and has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
