Matthias Hell
Matthias Hölle (born July 8, 1951 in Rottweil ) is a German opera singer ( bass ).
Life
Matthias Hölle first became known as an oratorio singer after studying singing at the Stuttgart University of Music . From 1976 to 1987 he was part of the ensemble of the Cologne Opera , after which he moved to the Stuttgart Opera .
From 1981 to 2001 he sang every summer at the Bayreuth Festival - as Hunding ( Die Walküre ), Fasolt ( Das Rheingold ), 2nd Knight of the Grail, Titurel and Gurnemanz ( Parsifal ), Night Watcher and Veit Pogner ( Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg ), King Marke ( Tristan and Isolde ) and Daland ( The Flying Dutchman ).
During his career he made guest appearances. B. at the Milan Scala and the Metropolitan Opera New York as well as the Salzburg Festival . In addition to the Wagner roles, with which he also became known on numerous stages outside the Bayreuth Festival, he sings a. a. also the Sarastro ( The Magic Flute ) and the Rocco ( Fidelio ).
