Matthias Kaiser (born June 5, 1950 in Mühlhausen , Thuringia ) is a German author .

Life

Matthias Kaiser learned the occupation of "mine electrician with high school diploma" at the Volkenroda and Koch potash works in the GDR . Under the guidance of the Mühlhausen author Manfred Thiele , he wrote poetry and prose . From 1976 to 1989 he worked as a cook in the Vierpfennighaus restaurant. Shortly before the fall of the Wall in 1989, he moved to Bad Hersfeld in the Federal Republic of Germany . There he learned the profession of insurance salesman , which led him back to Thuringia in 1993 on behalf of the public fire fund .

Since 2002 he has also been working as a photographer. He exhibits his photos, such as B. 2013 in the Thuringian state parliament . Today Kaiser is mainly known as a restaurant tester in Thuringia. His satirical restaurant reviews in the Thuringia newspaper group reach over a million readers every week. He also writes culinary books that are illustrated with his photos.

  • 2011: Silver medal in the Cooking, Baking, Drinks category of the German Gastronomic Academy for his book Der Grünkohl-Casanova
