Matthias Lochmann

Matthias Lochmann (* 1971 in Groß-Gerau ) is a German sports scientist and sports medicine specialist .

Life

Lochmann completed a degree in sports science and physics from 1990 to 1996 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . He then worked there for four years as a research assistant in the training science department of the sports department.

Between 2000 and 2006 he studied human medicine in Mainz. In 2003 he completed his doctoral thesis in physiological sciences, and in 2007 he also received his doctorate in medicine. In 2006 and 2007, Lochmann worked as a doctor and research assistant at the University Clinic in Heidelberg , and in 2007 and 2008 he held the same positions at the Institute for Biomechanics and Orthopedics at the German Sport University Cologne .

In 2008 he took up a position as professor for sports biology and movement medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

From 2015 Lochmann was a member of the football commission of the German Association for Sports Science , in 2017 he became commission spokesman and remained in office until 2019.

Lochmann, who has an A coaching license from the German Football Association, has been researching, among other things, the design of football training and the sport-scientific support for professional football teams. as well as the performance centers of football clubs. He also took part in the project "Neuroscience of Movement under Microgravity".

From 2010 he worked as a consultant for the Adidas group.
