Matthias Mouse

Matthias Maus (born October 29, 1967 in Darmstadt ) is a German fashion designer and artist .

Life

From 1989 to 1992, Maus completed an apprenticeship as a dressmaker at Ado Strube Haute Couture in Frankfurt am Main . From 1992 to 2010 he made as chief designer for the Frankfurt fashion label Ella Singh mainly red-carpet gowns for international celebrities , including for the RTL presenter Frauke Ludowig , the figure skater Katarina Witt and Paris Hilton . He also created numerous costumes for the candidates for the casting shows Deutschland sucht den Superstar and Germany's Next Topmodel . He also designed the costume for the musical production Robin Hood , was for the label Wunderkind by Wolfgang Joop worked and created award-winning showcase designs for the fashion chain Peek & Cloppenburg .

On November 11th, 2011 Matthias Maus presented his creations for the clubware label MBrilliant in Berlin for the first time . A robe designed by him, set with pearls and stones, which dresses the male phallus and is worn with a diadem as a hip necklace, caused a sensation.

In 2013 Maus designed the costume for the stage appearance of the singer Natalie Horler with her band Cascada at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö . He also presented his new collection at the Berlin fashion fair Berlin Fashion Week . Through a fan in 2013, Maus became aware of the subject of honor killings, to which men also fall victim, for example if they are homosexual. Since then, Maus has been campaigning publicly for awareness of the topic.

In January 2015, Maus presented the club collection "Shadowdance - Wheel of Fortune". The title goes back to the card in the tarot "Wheel of Fate" and also aims to refer to those who are in the shadows, invisible to the public, and who, due to fateful circumstances, do not have the opportunity to lead a self-determined life according to their convictions to be able to lead.

A fashion show organized by Matthias Maus in July 2017 caused a sensation in the media with the hip necklaces presented there, "clothing for the male phallus" that Maus used as a "attention-grabber for equality in men's fashion".
