Matthias Meinel

Matthias Meinel (born March 19, 1977 in Erlangen ) is a former German basketball player on the position of the winger. The 1.93 meter tall Meinel played for Nuremberg in the basketball league .

career

Meinel was born in Erlangen  and grew up in Neunkirchen am Brand  . He played with the YMCA Erlangen and from 1997 with the BBC Bayreuth . In 2003 he moved  from Bayreuth to Falke Nürnberg within the 2nd Bundesliga basketball league . In 2005 he rose to the basketball league with the Franks . In the top German division, he played 30 games between 2005 and 2007 and scored a total of 19 points.

In 2007/08 Meinel played for the regional league team MTV Kronberg , in 2008/09 for the ASC Theresianum Mainz in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB , in 2009/10 for the Licher BasketBären (also ProB). From 2010 to 2015 he was on the field for TSV Ansbach in the regional league. In the 2012/13 season he was the third-best thrower in the 1st Regionalliga Südost with an average of 23.1 points per match.

In addition to his basketball career, Meinel also studied (teaching for high school) in the subjects of business and sport.
