Matthias Pape

Matthias Pape (born September 24, 1957 in Siegen ) is a German historian .

Life

Matthias Pape studied history, philology, musicology and public law and was 1989 Stephan Skalweit (the second supervisor was Klaus Hildebrand ) at the University of Bonn to Dr. phil. PhD. In 2000 he completed his habilitation at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) . Then he was a lecturer and professor in Bonn, Karlsruhe, Mainz and Aachen. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Chair for Modern History at the Historical Institute of RWTH Aachen University .

His main research interests include the history of ideas and the constitution, the history of the Rhineland, places of remembrance from the Middle Ages and the history of science.
