Matthias Stauch

Matthias Stauch (born July 14, 1951 in Lüneburg ) is a German lawyer , university professor and former State Councilor in Bremen .

biography

Stauch joined the public service in 1967, after completing secondary school, as an administrative intern at the Lüneburg district government . He completed an apprenticeship for the higher administrative service with the district government. He studied social work for one year at the University of Social Education and Social Economics in Bremen and then until 1979 law at the University of Bremen . Since 1980 he has been an administrative judge in Bremen. From 1985 to 1987 he was a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court for Vice President Ernst Gottfried Mahrenholz . From 1991 to 1993 and 1996 to 1998 he was responsible for federal financial equalization at the Senator for Finance in Bremen and then as head of the department for tax law and financial equalization.

In 1994 he was appointed presiding judge at the Bremen Administrative Court and in 1999 President of the Administrative Court. Since 2002 he has been President of the Bremen Higher Administrative Court and a member, most recently Vice-President, of the Bremen State Court . In 2008 he was appointed to the State Council at the Senator for Justice and Constitution as a representative of the Senators Ralf Nagel and from 2010 Martin Günthner .

From July 2011 Stauch was State Councilor with the Senator for Justice and Constitution and with the Senator for Economics, Labor and Ports. As a state councilor, he was a member of the supervisory board of Bremer Landesbank .

Stauch also held teaching positions at the Bremen University of Public Administration and the University of Bremen and became honorary professor (2004 and 2008) at these institutions. He was head of the traineeship working groups and was entrusted with legal advice and advanced training in some of the successor states of the USSR for the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ).

Stauch retired in 2017; his successor as State Councilor was Jörg Schulz , former Lord Mayor of Bremerhaven.
