Matthias Theodor Kloft (* 1959 in Bonn ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Kloft studied Catholic theology and oriental studies in Bonn and Frankfurt am Main from 1978 to 1983 . After pastoral training and ordination for the diocese of Limburg , he completed a doctorate in Catholic theology and modern and modern history at the University of Münster from 1988 to 1992 , where he obtained his doctorate in 1992 ( Oratores vestri monent. His work focuses on regional and state history topics of the church history of Hesse and Nassau, the diocese of Limburg and the city of Frankfurt. He is an appointed member of the Hessian Historical Commission Darmstadt (2009), the Nassau Historical Commission Wiesbaden (2004) and the Society for Research into Jewish History (1995). From 2004 to 2008 was a member of the Hesse State Monument Council.
