Matthias Theodor Kloft

Matthias Theodor Kloft (* 1959 in Bonn ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Kloft studied Catholic theology and oriental studies in Bonn and Frankfurt am Main from 1978 to 1983 . He has been diocesan curator of the Diocese of Limburg since 2013. Since 2015 he has been head of the "Art and Museums" department and director of the Limburg Diocesan Museum .

His work focuses on regional and state history topics of the church history of Hesse and Nassau, the diocese of Limburg and the city of Frankfurt. He is an appointed member of the Hessian Historical Commission Darmstadt (2009), the Nassau Historical Commission Wiesbaden (2004) and the Society for Research into Jewish History (1995). From 2004 to 2008 was a member of the Hesse State Monument Council.
