Matti Rönkä (born September 9, 1959 in Kuusjärvi , North Karelia , Finland ) is a Finnish journalist and detective writer .

Life

Rönkä studied political science, graduated with a master's degree and attended the Helsingin Sanomat journalism school . He has been working for the Finnish television news YLE at TV1 since 1990 and is currently the head of the newsroom. He lives in Helsinki with his wife Suvi Ahola , who is also a writer, and their three children .

In his Finnish homeland and beyond, Matti Rönkä is a very well-known writer. Ultimately, he owes this to the diversity of his unusual novel protagonist : Viktor Kärppä , a former secret service employee , crook and later also an informant for the police, wins the sympathy of readers as an antihero.
