Scandinavian detective award
The Scandinavian Crime Prize (Original: Glasnyckeln (sv), Glasnøglen (da), Glassnøkkelen (no), Glerlykillinn (is) or Lasiavain-palkinto (fi) ) is an important literary prize that has been awarded annually since 1992 for the best crime novel in Scandinavia by the Scandinaviska Kriminalsällskapet (SKS, Crime Writers of Scandinavia) is awarded. Only Denmark , Finland , Iceland , Norway and Sweden have the opportunity to propose a national title each. The winner receives an artful glass object, the Glasnyckel (literally “glass key”) as recognition . The award is sometimes referred to in German-speaking countries as the Nordic Crime Prize or The Transparent Key . In English, the terms Glass Key Award , Glas Key Prize or Nordic Crime Novel Award , also Nordic Crime Novel's Award, are common. The award was named after the 1931 published detective novel by Dashiell Hammett : The Glass Key (dt .: The Glass Key ). The main sponsor of the award is the Swedish publisher Bra Böcker AB in Höganäs .
