Matwei Isaakowitsch Blanter
Matvei Isaakowitsch Blanter ( Russian Матвей Исаакович Блантер * January 28 . Jul / 10. February 1903 greg. In Pochep ; † 27. September 1990 in Moscow ) was a Soviet composer.
Matwei Blanter grew up in a family of craftsmen. After studying music in Kursk and Moscow , Blanter began composing songs in the early 1920s. His first works belonged to light dance music. His style changed in the 1930s. Now he composed songs in the sense of socialism. The song about Stalin was written in 1938 , the German version of which is known as Stalin, Freund, Comrade . His most famous song is Katyusha , the text of which was written by Mikhail Issakovsky . In addition, Blanter composed a number of other Estrada hits. In total, Blanter left an oeuvre of over 2000 songs.
In 1946 Blanter was awarded the Stalin Prize , in 1965 with the title People's Artist of the RSFSR and in 1975 with the title People's Artist of the USSR . In 1983 he received the title Hero of Socialist Labor .
