Maurício Camargo Lima , known as Maurício (born January 27, 1968 in Campinas ) is a Brazilian volleyball player . He was twice Olympic champion and once world champion.

Career

Maurício took part with the Brazilian national team five times in a row (1988, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004) in the Olympic Games and won the gold medal in Barcelona in 1992 and in Athens in 2004 . In addition, gold arrive at the World Cup in 2002 , winning the World Cup in 2003 and four victories in the World Volleyball League .

Maurício played mainly for Brazilian clubs (seven times Brazilian champions and five times South American club champions), but was also active in Italy with Pallavolo Modena (1994 Italian Cup victory), Gabeca Volley Monza and Lube Macerata (2005 CEV Cup victory ).

Maurício has received several awards as “Most Valuable Player” ( MVP ), “Best Setter” etc. In 2012 he was inducted into the " Volleyball Hall of Fame ".
