Maura Visser (born June 1, 1985 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch handball player .

Career

After Visser was active in the Netherlands for Hellas Den Haag and vd Voort / Quintus , the four-time Dutch champion (2004 to 2007) joined the Danish first division club KIF Kolding in 2009 . With Kolding, the back court player reached the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2010 . In the summer of 2011 Visser moved to the German Bundesliga club HC Leipzig . She won the DHB Cup with Leipzig in 2014 . In November 2014, her contract was terminated. On December 29, 2014, she signed a contract with Danish first division club Viborg HK until the end of the 2014/15 season . She then moved to the German Bundesliga club SG BBM Bietigheim . In 2017 and 2019 she won the German championship with Bietigheim. She paused the 2017/18 season due to her pregnancy. She ended her career after the 2019/20 season.

Visser played 139 games for the Dutch national team , in which they scored over 450 goals. Visser finished fifth in the scorers list at the 2010 European Championship with 36 hits. She won the silver medal at the 2016 European Championships . After Visser won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 2018 , she ended her international career.

Private

Visser has been in a relationship with the German soccer player Philipp Pentke since November 2013 .
