Maureen Tranter

Maureen Tranter ( Maureen Dorothy Tranter; born May 7, 1947 in Bilston , West Midlands ) is a former British sprinter .

In 1966 she reached the semi-finals at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston over 100 yards and 220 yards respectively and won silver with the English 4-by-110-yard relay. At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest , she reached the semi-finals over 200 m and came with the British team in sixth place in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, she was eliminated over 200 m in the run and was seventh in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

In 1970 she was fifth at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh over 200 m and failed over 400 m in the run.

In 1966 she became English indoor champion over 220 yards.
