Mauritz von Wiktorin (born August 13, 1883 in Hainburg an der Donau , † August 16, 1956 in Nuremberg ) was an Austrian officer , most recently a general of the infantry in World War II .

Life

Viktorin served as an officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army in the First World War . After the end of the war he switched to the Austrian army and worked as a commander and general staff officer in various units. During his service in the Austrian General Staff, he was dismissed in 1935 for unauthorized contacts with German authorities.

The annexation of Austria showed by Wiktorin thrilled was reactivated and assigned as a lieutenant general of the army, the army group. 5 In July 1938 he took command of the 20th Infantry Division .
