Maurizio Catenacci (born May 5, 1964 in Frosinone ) is a former Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Ratinger Löwen in the German Ice Hockey League from 1982 to 1999 . His son Daniel Catenacci is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Maurizio Catenacci began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League , in which he was active in the 1982/83 season for the Oshawa Generals and Windsor Spitfires . Then the attacker received a contract with HC Como from the A2 series, the second Italian division. After only one year he left this again and played for AS Varese Hockey from Serie A for four seasons . With this he won the national championship for the first time in the 1986/87 season . From 1988 to 1999 Catenacci played for their league rivals HC Milano Saima . During the 1990/91 season, the former national player went hunting for goals for SG Cortina . With HC Devils Milano he won the championship title in Italy for the second time in his career in the 1991/92 season.
After one season each at HC Fiemme Cavalese and HC Courmaosta in Serie A, Catenacci joined the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble from the French Ligue Magnus for the 1994/95 season . He then spent another year in Serie A at HC Pustertal before he was signed by the Ratinger Löwen from the German Ice Hockey League for the 1996/97 season . For the team from NRW he scored five goals in 44 games and provided eight assists. He then paused ice hockey for a year before he ended his career in the 1998/99 season again for HK Jesenice in parallel in the Slovenian ice hockey league and the Alpine league on the ice.

For Italy , Catenacci took part in the B World Championships in 1985 and 1987 .
