Maus au Chocolat is an interactive dark ride in the Phantasialand amusement park in Brühl . The attraction was opened on June 9, 2011 in the Berlin themed area . The story of the ride is about the fictional Berlin cake factory Gustav E. Lehmann , into which mice have penetrated and are supposed to be removed with the help of the passengers. Visitors shoot lumps of cake at the rodents that act in interactive 3D film scenes . The aim is to achieve the highest possible number of points.

An actor disguised as exterminator Oskar Koslowski greets the guests at several stations in the waiting area in films shown on large monitors. In this way, visitors are introduced to the history and handling of the interactive part of the ride. The journey takes place in trains with three carriages for four people each, the visitors sit back to back to each other and are aligned with the rotating chaise in the course of the journey to seven by six screens with rear projection . The stations shown in the films represent several areas of cake production. The first station is the administration of the factory, followed by the warehouse, kitchen, baking room, cake conveyor belt, cooling chamber and finally the sales room.

The passengers have to wear polarizing 3D glasses in order to perceive the stereoscopic spatial effect of the sequences shown. Every visitor then has the opportunity to "shoot" the mice that appear on the screens with the piping bags attached to the car . An infrared signal is sent to optical sensors behind the screen so that the system control can determine the position of the hit. These shots are also represented in the form of cake icing flying onto the scenery. If a mouse was hit, the value of the mouse is added to the visitor's score. The more hidden the mice are in the picture, the more points are scored with one hit. Since the passengers sit back to back and the cars can rotate, there is no clear direction of travel for the visitor. The areas between the virtual sequences are also designed to match the cake factory theme. Some scenes are also moved, but no animatronics are used.

At the end of the journey, the visitors are driven in front of screens on which the number of points achieved and a photo of the passenger taken during the journey are displayed. The number of points achieved can also be read on the LED segment displays in the car while driving .
