Max Baginski (* 1864 in Bartenstein in East Prussia ; † November 24, 1943 New York City ) was a liberal German socialist , he was close to the Friedrichshagener poet circle .

At the instigation of the SPD, Baginski became the editor of The Proletarian from the Owl Mountains , it is believed to keep the radicals away from Berlin. For political reasons, he had to serve a two-and-a-half year prison sentence and, in solidarity, left the SPD after his friends had been expelled because of deviating from the party’s course. In 1893 he went to the USA, where he was active in the labor movement. There he wrote, among other things, for Johann Most's magazine Freiheit and the Arbeiter-Zeitung . He later published articles in Mother Earth magazine, edited by Emma Goldman .
