Max Carl Krüger (born July 18, 1834 in Lübbenau / Spreewald , † January 30, 1880 in Dresden ) was a German painter .

life and work

Max Carl Krüger was born on July 18, 1834 in Lübbenau / Spreewald . He studied at the art academies in Munich and Weimar . Study trips took him to Italy, among other places . In 1870 he settled in Dresden . He participated in academic art exhibitions in Dresden and Berlin . Max Carl Krüger died on January 30, 1880 in Dresden.

Max Carl Krüger devoted himself primarily to landscape painting. His artistic work was embedded in the efforts of 19th century Dresden art to depict the way of life and regional characteristics of the rural residents. His Spreewald album , published in 1878, is still used today as a source for historical research because of its realistic presentation.
