Max Kurt Fritz Herz (born July 3, 1905 in Hamburg ; † May 12, 1965 there ) was a German businessman and entrepreneur. Together with Carl Tchilling-Hiryan , he founded a coffee shipping company in post-war Germany in 1949, today's Tchibo Group.

In 1939 he married the almost 20-year-old Ingeburg König . With her he had five children, Günter , Joachim , Michael , Wolfgang and Daniela.

Max Herz died in his hometown in 1965 at the age of 59. He was buried there in the Ohlsdorf cemetery. Ingeburg Herz founded the Max and Ingeburg Herz Foundation from the estate , which in particular supports facilities for the medical treatment and care of the elderly, but is also active in awarding scholarships to German students, for example.
