Ingeburg heart

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ingeburg Herz , née Ingeburg König , (born February 23, 1920 in Hamburg ; † September 30, 2015 there ) was a German entrepreneur and founder. In 2005, the wife of Tchibo founder Max Herz was one of the richest Germans with an estimated fortune of over five billion euros .

Life

Ingeburg König, who lives in Hamburg, married Max Herz in 1939; together they had five children: Günter Herz (* 1940), Joachim Herz (1941–2008), Michael Herz (* 1944), Wolfgang Herz and Daniela Herz-Schnoeckl .

After the company's founder died in 1965, the entire fortune fell to his wife and children, but the will did not clearly regulate the company's succession. There was an argument among the children. Günter Herz as the oldest took over the management of the Tchibo company, the mother and the other children held further shares.

Ingeburg Herz turned to charitable tasks and founded the Max and Ingeburg Herz Foundation , which primarily supports facilities for the medical treatment and care of the elderly, but is also active in other areas, for example in awarding scholarships to German students.

At the beginning of 2001, Günter Herz had to give up his chairmanship of the board of the former Tchibo Holding AG (today maxingvest ag ) because of ongoing family disputes . For months, the dispute also paralyzed the company and the intended takeover of a majority stake in the cosmetics group Beiersdorf AG . In August 2003, the family members signed a contract that from then on made mother Ingeburg Herz and the three brothers Michael, Wolfgang and Joachim the sole owners of the family company. Former boss Günter Herz and his sister Daniela were paid out with an estimated four billion euros.

Ingeburg Herz died on September 30, 2015 at the age of 95 in Hamburg.

Trivia
