(185164) Ingeburgherz is an asteroid of the central main belt , which was discovered on September 27, 2006 by the team of the Observatorio Astronómico de La Sagra .
The planetoid was named in honor of Ingeburg Herz (1920–2015), a German entrepreneur and founder of the Max and Ingeburg Herz Foundation . The foundation supports education, research and science.
(185164) Ingeburgherz belongs to the Merxia family. This asteroid family is named after the 31 km large (808) Merxia .
