Max Jendly

Max Jendly (born March 3, 1945 in Freiburg im Uechtland ) is a Swiss jazz pianist and big band leader.

After studying economics, Jendly worked as a printer and journalist. After completing his musical training, he concentrated on jazz in 1980. As a music teacher, he taught in Freiburg and Montreux . “No one else has shaped jazz in the canton of Friborg like Max Jendly over the past 40 years. He was the originator of the «Jazz Parade», the summer festival on Place George Python in Freiburg , and founded the jazz club «La Spirale». “Since 1991 he has been the artistic director of the big band at the Freiburg Conservatory; he gave concerts, published albums and composed. He arranged for Magali Noël's Vian album . He wrote the music for the production of the play Novecento by Alessandro Baricco at the Magnifique Théâtre .
