Antoine Ogay

Antoine Ogay (born September 23, 1958 in Lausanne ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( double bass ) and sound engineer.

Live and act

Ogay, son of the jazz pianist Bernard Ogay, first received classical lessons on the violin before switching to the clarinet and then the flute . Shortly before completing his training as a piano maker , he discovered the double bass in 1978. Soon he was accompanying such diverse musicians as Curtis Fuller , Toots Thielemans , George Gruntz and Matthieu Michel . In 1983 he was in the recording studio for the first time with Jazz à quatre (his father's quartet); further albums with Thierry Lang or Moncef Genoud followed. In the following years he mainly worked in the trio of Silvano Bazan and with the Big Band de Lausanne , which worked with soloists such as Fred Hersch , Jon Faddis , Adam Nussbaum , Johnny Griffin , Marvin Stamm , Tom Rainey and Franco Ambrosetti and produced numerous albums. He has also appeared with Harry Sweets Edison , Pascal Auberson , Philippe Staehli and Phil Collins .

In 1991 he founded a mastering studio, mainly working for the TCB label.
