Max Neumeyer

Max Neumeyer (born September 4, 1920 ; † May 22, 1993 ) was a German local politician ( CSU ) and holder of the Bavarian Order of Merit .

Neumeyer completed his law studies with a doctorate . From May 1964 to April 1988 he was Lord Mayor of Bad Reichenhall . In the run-up to the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich , he and the city council pursued the goal of establishing a center for school sports, recreation and prophylaxis in the city, which it was hoped would send a clear signal. The ice skating and swimming pool there was also built in this context . On July 1, 1972, the city lost its district freedom and became the administrative seat of the newly formed district of Berchtesgadener Land .
