Max Ostermayer

Max Ostermayer (born November 20, 1860 in Weilheim an der Teck , † May 27, 1942 ) was a merchant and honorary citizen of the city of Emmerich am Rhein .

Life

His job as a businessman and later senior manager of the company "Lensing & van Gülpen" took him on business trips around the world, including to Geneva , Manchester , Moscow and Yokohama .

In 1909 he became a member of the city council and in 1923 honorary alderman of the city of Emmerich. There he played a key role in solving socio-political issues in Emmerich, including in the "Committee on the Correct Distribution of Food", of which he was a member in 1919. He also had the first housing estates built for the employees of his companies.

Honors

In 1930, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, he was given honorary citizenship.
