history
The laboratory ship Max Prüss was built in 1998/1999 as a replacement for the predecessor ship of the same name, which was decommissioned after 34 years of service, under construction number 152 at the Genthin shipyard on the Elbe-Havel Canal of Deutsche Binnenwerften GmbH. The keel was laid in September 1998, the launch on April 7, 1999. On May 7th, 1999 it was delivered to the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Furnishing
The ship has a 27 m² laboratory room , a multifunctional room of 19 m², four cabins, a trade fair and two separate bathrooms with showers and toilets. The deck of the foredeck is square in order to have more working space.
The laboratory facilities include sampling devices for water, suspended matter and sediments. The nutrients can be determined using a photometer and volatile hydrocarbons can be determined using a gas chromatograph .
At the end of 2015, the LANUV equipped the laboratory ship with a combined exhaust gas cleaning system. Since then, there have been SCR catalytic converters and soot particle filters on board . Since then, a tank container with AdBlue has been set up on the upper deck .
