Max Schödl
Max Schödl (born February 2, 1834 in Vienna ; † March 23, 1921 there ) was an Austrian painter of realism.
Schödl's work consists mainly of still lifes with everyday objects, not infrequently of oriental origin. From 1869 he was a member of the Künstlerhaus , to which he bequeathed a significant sum in his will. The "Herr von Schödl" was considered a well-known Viennese city original , a crazy person whose sayings often seemed involuntarily funny, but sometimes also hinted at hidden wisdom. Mirko Jelusich has collected several of these anecdotes.
