Max van Beurden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marinus Johannes Emmanuel "Max" van Beurden (born December 25, 1930 in Berlicum , † October 28, 2006 ) was a Dutch football player . After the Second World War he played for BVV / Caterpillar from 's-Hertogenbosch , a predecessor club of FC Den Bosch , with which he won the Dutch championship in 1948 .

In 1953 and 1954 van Beurden was called up five times for the Dutch national team. He made his debut in the anniversary game against Belgium , the 200th international match of the Netherlands, on April 19, 1953. His only goal in Oranje fell on October 25, 1953 in another game against the record opponent from the neighboring country. It was a special goal, because it was the only goal of the game to secure the first international win for the Dutch in more than two and a half years. They had previously finished their last game victorious on April 15, 1951, also against Belgium 5: 4. After his fifth use on April 4, 1954, van Beurden was still part of the Dutch squad, but had to make do with the place on the bench in the remaining three games of 1954. After professional footballers were allowed to play in the national team from 1955, van Beurden was no longer appointed.

When the Eredivisie was founded in 1956 , BVV was among the first teams in the new professional league. Van Beurden made 68 games for the North Brabants in the top division in two seasons up to the relegation of BVV, scoring 27 goals.
