Paul Hennig

Paul Hermann Fritz Hennig (born July 16, 1874 in Frankfurt (Oder) , † June 28, 1930 in Munich ) was a co-founder and board member of the Federation of Employees (GDA) and the German Employee Health Insurance Fund (DAK).

Life

Initially working as a businessman in the "Berlinische Rückversicherungs Gesellschaft", he came to Munich in the 1890s and was also a union member of the "Bund der Handelsgehilfen". In 1904 he was appointed deputy treasurer of the “Association of German Merchants” in Berlin . After the First World War , in which he a. a. Was deployed in Belgium , he was from 1919 to 1920 a member of the German People's Party (DVP) in the constituent Prussian state assembly . He was a member of the official council of the Johannis Lodge "Humanitas" of the Freemasons .

In 1920, with his participation, the GDA emerged from former commercial sub-unions, in which he took on leading positions. From around 1923 he headed the GDA regional administration for Bavaria and Württemberg . The headquarters of the main administration was the union's own house in Munich, Barerstraße 44. One of the highlights of his work was the opening of the GDA rest home "Villa Marie-Luise" in Hallthurm near Berchtesgaden .

He was a co-founder and member of the supervisory board of the DAK and deputy chairman of the board of the health and funeral fund of the "Association of German Merchants".
