Max von Prittwitz and Gaffron
Max Moritz Hans von Prittwitz and Gaffron (born March 29, 1876 in Breslau ; † October 7, 1956 in Göttingen ) was a German officer , most recently major general in World War II and a legal knight of the Order of St. John .
family
He came from the old, widely branched Silesian noble family of the von Prittwitz family and was the son of the Prussian lieutenant general Hans von Prittwitz and Gaffron and Marie von Zawadzky.
Prittwitz married on April 19, 1916 in Frankfurt am Main Mechthild von Wille (* October 2, 1883 in Nordhausen ; † May 7, 1966 in Lübeck ), the daughter of the First Public Prosecutor Ernst von Wille and Elisabeth von Trott zu Solz .
