Maxim Igorevich Simin

Maxim Igorewitsch Simin ( Russian Максим Игоревич Зимин , also transcribed Maxim Zimin ; born April 28, 1994 in Barnaul ) is a Russian racing driver . In 2011 he started in the GP3 series .

Career

Simin began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 and was active in this sport until 2009. In 2009 Simin also made his debut in formula racing and took part in one racing weekend each for the Italian Formula Renault and Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocups for Jenzer Motorsport . In 2010 he stayed with the Swiss racing team and competed in the Swiss Formula Renault and Formula Abarth at the same time . He finished fifth overall in both championships. In the Swiss Formula Renault, two third places were his best results and he lost the team-internal duel against Zoël Amberg , who won the championship title. The season was more successful for Simin in the Formula Abarth, in which he finished third in the first race. In the further course of the season, four second places followed as the best results. In Formula Abarth, he won the team-internal duel against Amberg.

In 2011 Simin competed in the GP3 series for Jenzer Motorsport . While his team mate Nico Müller won a race, Simin remained without points and finished the season in 27th place overall.
