He competed in three racing series and finished fourth in the Italian Formula Renault and fifth in the Swiss Formula Renault with two wins . He also took part in a racing weekend for the Western European Formula Renault. In 2010 Amberg stayed with Jenzer Motorsport. Amberg was most successful in the Swiss Formula Renault, in which dominantly won the championship title. He took part in ten out of twelve races, won six of them and finished second four times. Amberg also competed in Formula Abarth and won one race in this championship. At the end of the season he had to admit defeat to his teammate Maxim Simin , who was fifth, and ended the season in seventh place overall.

In 2011 Amberg switched to Atech CRS GP in the GP3 series . He received a two-year contract with the British racing team. He finished his first season with no points in 28th place in the drivers' championship. In addition, he took part in three European F3 Open events for De Villota Motorsport . Despite a two-year contract, his GP3 involvement ended at the end of the season and he switched to Pons Racing , for which he competed in Formula Renault 3.5 in 2012 . His teammate was Yann Cunha . Both pilots were under contract for two seasons. Amberg brought in the only point Pons scored this season. He was 26th in the drivers' championship. He also took part in a race in the Blancpain Endurance Series , making his debut in a GT car. In 2013 , Amberg received a new team-mate at Pons Racing in Nikolai Marzenko . A sixth place was his only point placement of the season. With 8 to 20 points he lost to Marzenko within the team. Amberg reached the 24th place in the overall ranking. In 2014 Amberg switched to AV Formula within Formula Renault 3.5 . In Volokolamsk he achieved his first podium finish with a second place, which was also the only one of the season. He improved to eleventh place in the overall standings and internally beat Beitske Visser with 66 to 11 points .

In 2015 Amberg switched to the GP2 series for Team Lazarus . After training for the GP2 run in Spielberg , Amberg withdrew from the rest of the race weekend due to severe headaches and dizziness. After taking a break from an event for health reasons and being approved for racing, he returned to the cockpit in Mogyoród . However, he also broke off the race weekend after training because he was unwell. Amberg blamed two accidents at the 2015 GP2 race in Monte Carlo for his health problems. Amberg then withdrew from motorsport for a longer period of regeneration. In addition, Amberg competed in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). He received a cockpit at Morand Racing . Shortly before the season opener, Morand, who was cooperating with the SARD team , withdrew both cars. After organizational restructuring in the team, Morand returned to the championship for the second race and reduced the line-up to one car. Amberg stayed with the team as a driver. As part of the WEC, Amberg made his debut at the Le Mans 24-hour race . He also interrupted his WEC engagement for health reasons.
