Maximilian Arnold (born January 24, 1874 in Reistenhausen , † January 16, 1943 in Mannheim ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Maximilian Arnold was born the son of a shipper. After attending primary school in Reistenhausen, he completed an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor from 1887 to 1889. He joined the trade union in 1890, attended the building trade school in Zerbst / Anhalt from 1897 to 1898 and worked as a stonemason in Mannheim from 1899. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Arnold joined the SPD in 1893 and was elected to the board of the SPD Mannheim and the state committee of the SPD Baden at the end of the 1920s. From 1906 to 1930 he was a district council member in the Mannheim district and from 1915 to 1930 city ​​councilor in Mannheim. The constituent state assembly of the Republic of Baden and the state parliament of the Republic of Baden belonged from July 7, 1919 to 1921 as successor to MP Martin Jost , from July 19, 1923 to 1925 as replacement to MP Georg Strobel and from April 26, 1928 to 1929 as Successor of MP Rudolf Freidhof . In the state elections in October 1929 he was finally elected to the state parliament himself, of which he remained a member until 1933.
