Maximilian C. Jehuda Ewert

Maximilian Cornelius Jehuda Ewert (born July 22, 1974 in Soltau ) is a German composer . After drawing attention to himself at an early stage, his works are performed at home and abroad (e.g. Argentina, Canada, France, Israel, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, USA).

biography

Ewert was born as the son of the former military doctor Karsten Ewert . After graduating from high school in 1994, he studied violin and composition in Augsburg with John van Buren , later at the University of Music in Würzburg with Heinz Winbeck . Ewert received several awards for his compositions, including first prize at the international Johannes Brahms Competition in Hamburg in 1999 and first prize in 2006 for a symphonic work by the Oslo Grieg Society. From 2001 to 2002 he lived on a scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris . At the same time, Ewert was active as a violinist in several orchestras. a. in the Russian Chamber Philharmonic in St Petersburg and most recently as concertmaster at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. At the same time he was played by well-known ensembles such as the Arditti Quartet . Since 2001 Maximilian CJ Ewert has been to Argentina several times, where he a. a. worked with Oscar Nicolas Fresedo and established himself in Buenos Aires with performances of his tangos. In 2007 he received orders from the Kasseler Musiktage, the Munich A • DEvantgarde Festival and taught at the Berlin University of the Arts . Ewert has been attending José Manuel López López's courses at the University of Paris VIII since 2006 , where he regularly meets his professors Heinz Winbeck and John van Buren.
