Maximilian Hofmann (born May 11, 1954 in Vöcklabruck ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ). Hofmann was a member of the Austrian National Council between 1994 and 2006 .

education and profession

Hofmann attended elementary school and the federal high school in Vöcklabruck and then switched to the higher technical federal school Pinkafeld . Hofmann then studied energy and process engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and obtained the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. Between 1973 and 1974 Hofmann did his military service.

Hofmann worked in domestic and foreign companies in the field of technical building equipment. He ran the trading company Hofmann KG as managing partner and set up his own planning office for technical building equipment in 1984.

politics

Maximilian Hofmann was municipal councilor in Vöcklabruck between 1991 and 1997 and deputy district party chairman of the FPÖ Vöcklabruck between 1996 and 2004. In 2004 he was elected district party chairman. In addition, between 1998 and 2004 Hofmann was Federal Chairman of the Ring of Freedom of Commerce and from 2000 to 2002 Federal Section Chairman of the Trade in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce . In 2002 he was appointed deputy federal party chairman in the area of ​​information and consulting.

Hofmann represented the FPÖ in the National Council from November 7, 1994. He was deputy chairman in the committee for petitions and citizens' initiatives and deputy chairman in the economic committee. In the course of the split in the FPÖ, Hofmann initially announced that he would remain a member of the FPÖ. However, he resigned from the FPÖ in March 2006. Hofmann resigned from the National Council on October 29, 2006.
