Maximilian Linder

Maximilian Linder (born March 22, 1965 in Villach ) is an Austrian politician ( FPK , formerly FPÖ or BZÖ ) as well as a restaurateur and farmer . Linder was a member of the Austrian National Council from 2008 to 2013, and was a member again from November 2017 to October 2019.

education and profession

Linder first attended the elementary school in Afritz am See from 1971 to 1975 and then until 1977 the secondary school in Radenthein . In 1977 he switched to the secondary school in Umgebung valley ( meeting ), which he attended until 1979. Linder then graduated from the Stiegerhof agricultural college by 1981, and passed the agricultural master's examination in 1988. In 1984 he also passed the hospitality license exam. Linder did military service between 1984 and 1985.

Linder worked as a farmer between 1979 and 1981 and was then employed in his parents' hospitality and agriculture until 1988. Since 1989 he has been self-employed as a guest and farmer.

politics

Between 1985 and 1991 Linder was a substitute member of the municipality council in Feld am See . In 1991 he was elected to the municipality of Afritz am See , and in 1997 he was promoted to the second vice mayor of the municipality. In 2003 he was elected mayor of Afritz am See. Linder was initially a member of the FPÖ, but after the split of the FPÖ, like most of the Carinthian FPÖ functionaries, switched to the BZÖ. In 2007, Linder was elected district party chairman of the BZÖ Villach-Land . Linder ran for the 2008 National Council election and won a direct seat in the Villach regional constituency. He was sworn in as a member of the BZÖ on October 28, 2008 and took on the role of area spokesman for tourism in the BZÖ parliamentary club. On December 16, 2009, the Carinthian BZÖ, as well as the 17 members of the state parliament, the 2 federal councilors and 3 national councilors - including Linder - split off from the federal BZÖ and, as the FPK, sought to work closely with the FPÖ. 2013 left the National Council at the end of the legislative period.

Private

Linder has been married since 1989 and has a son and two daughters.
