Maximilian "Max" Müller (born July 11, 1987 in Nuremberg ) is a German hockey player and former member of the A-squad of the German national team.

As a youth, Maximilian Müller played a total of 64 international matches (first international match in 2002) and was appointed to Germany's senior squad at the age of 18, where he has now made 160 international matches, five of them indoors. (As of June 24, 2012)

In addition to four German youth championships with his team at HTC in Nuremberg , his personal successes include winning the U16 European Championship in Barcelona in 2003, the U21 Vice European Championship in Prague in 2006 and winning the Champions Trophy in Kuala Lumpur in 2007. 2008 was Müller Long injured but returned to the team in time for the Olympics. At the 2008 Olympic Games , Müller won gold with the German team after beating Spain 1-0 in the final. He was runner-up in the European Championship behind England in 2009 and World Championship runner-up behind Australia in India in 2010 . In February 2011 he was part of the successful team at the 2011 World Indoor Hockey Championship . In August 2011, the German team won the final against the Netherlands at the European Field Hockey Championship in Mönchengladbach. In 2012, Müller became Olympic champion in London as captain of the national team after a 2-1 final victory over the Netherlands .

Müller found his way to hockey through his father Martin, who not only played field hockey, but also ice hockey and is one of the most successful ice hockey players in Nuremberg. In 2014 Müller was elected to the Nuremberg City Council for the CSU. He is also a member of the supervisory board of 1. FC Nürnberg .
