Maximilien d'Erp
Maximilien d'Erp de Holt et Baerlo (* 1847 , † 1936 ) was a Belgian ambassador .
Life
Maximilien d'Erp was ambassador to the Holy See from May 1896 to February 1915 .
In 1899 he joined the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples on the advice of Baron Carl de Vinck de Deux-Orp (* 1859, † 1931), from 1897 to 1899 Belgian envoy in Beijing, and urged the sending of a chaplain to the Belgian colony in Beijing - Hankou .
In 1906, after the death of Archbishop of Mechlin Petrus-Lambertus Goossens, d'Erp received instructions from the government in Brussels to support the candidacy of Désiré-Joseph Mercier .
