Maximino Romero de Lema (born November 15, 1911 in Santa Maria de Bayo , Spain , † October 29, 1996 ) was a Curia Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Maximino Romero de Lema received on 23 December 1944, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 15, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . as titular bishop of Horta and auxiliary bishop in Madrid . The apostolic nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Antonio Riberi , donated him episcopal ordination on July 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop of Santiago de Compostela , Miguel Nóvoa Fuente , and the archbishop of Madrid, Casimiro Morcillo González . As auxiliary bishop in Madrid, Maximino Romero de Lema attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

Romero de Lema became Bishop of Ávila on October 19, 1968 . On March 21, 1973 Paul VI appointed him. Titular Archbishop of Aemona and Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy .

On December 18, 1986, Pope John Paul II accepted Maximino Romero de Lema's motion to resign from the office of Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy, for reasons of age.
