Casimiro Morcillo González (born January 26, 1904 in Soto del Real , † May 30, 1971 in Madrid ) was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Madrid .

Life

Casimiro Morcillo González was ordained a priest on December 18, 1926 . Pius XII. appointed him on January 25, 1943 auxiliary bishop in Madrid and titular bishop of Agathopolis .

He was ordained episcopate on May 9th of the same year by the Bishop of Madrid, Leopoldo Eijo y Garay ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Tortosa , Félix Bilbao y Ugarriza and the Bishop of Mondoñedo , Benjamin de Arriba y Castro .

The Pope Pius XII. appointed him Bishop of Bilbao on May 13, 1950 and Archbishop of Saragossa on September 21, 1955 . He attended all the sessions of the Second Vatican Council . Paul VI appointed him Archbishop of Madrid on March 27, 1964.
