Maxine Nightingale
Maxine Nightingale (born November 2, 1952 in Wembley , United Kingdom ) is a British disco and soul singer who is best known for her 1975 million seller Right Back Where We Started From .
Life
Maxine recorded her first records in 1968. In the early 1970s she starred in various productions by Hair , Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell .
She also sang on the 1975 album "Raindog" by Stomu Yamashta. In 1975 she recorded the album "Right Back Where We Started From", and with the disco production of the same name she achieved a world hit (UK 8th place, USA 2nd place).
This was followed by some smaller hits such as "Love Hit Me" (number 11 in the UK charts in 1977) or "Lead Me On", with which she was able to build on her success in America in 1978 (number 5 on the Billboard charts ).
Later she increasingly turned to jazz and rhythm and blues .
