Maya Fadeeva (born May 13, 1987 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a Russian-German singer , songwriter and music producer .

Life

Fadeeva began attending the music school for gifted children in St. Petersburg at the age of seven. When she was eight, she traveled to New York for a year. Fadeeva came to Germany at the age of eleven.

Musical career

Maya Fadeeva acquired in 2015 at the Conservatorium Maastricht the Bachelor of Music degree in jazz singing . She performed at the Jazzfestival Kaliningrad 2013, Jazzfestival Viersen 2018, during the Jazz Rally Düsseldorf 2011, 2019 and the Leverkusener Jazztage 2016. Maya Fadeeva won the JazzTube competition Bonn in 2012 and performed with Bobby McFerrin in 2019 .

Together with Club des Belugas and producer Pat Anthony, she released her first solo album Chamëleon, which was released in April 2018.

reception

The MDR culture -Musikredakteurin Heidi Eichenberg compares her voice to that of Amy Winehouse says and that she was a "spirited singer with a deep voice." In addition, the CD Chamëleon is "one of the coolest albums this spring". On WDR 3 , Chamëleon was presented with his "varied numbers" as "album of the week".
