The Maz & More TV Produktion GmbH (proper spelling: MAZ & MORE TV production ) is a German television production company based in Berlin . It is a wholly owned subsidiary of WeltN24 GmbH , which was founded in 2014 and also operates the news and documentary channel Welt and the daily newspaper Die Welt , and is therefore part of the Axel Springer SE group . The Maz & More TV production provides u. a. for SAT.1 on weekdays the four and a half hour SAT.1 breakfast television .

history

Maz & More TV production emerged from the SAT.1 central editorial office. In addition to weekly magazine programs, it regularly produces current special programs such as u. a. William & Kate - The fairytale wedding of the year , SAT.1 Advent Special 2012 , Gala Die Goldene Deutschland 2013 , The flood catastrophe - victims and heroes , The flood catastrophe - fear and hope . On June 16, 2010, ProSiebenSat.1 sold the news channel N24 and Maz & More TV Produktion to a bidding consortium led by N24 managing directors Torsten Rossmann and Stefan Aust . A contract for the production of news programs for SAT.1, ProSieben and kabeleins was also signed, which runs until the end of 2016 . A contract for the production of SAT.1 breakfast television and SAT.1 magazine was also signed by Maz & More, which runs until mid-2014 . In 2012 the breakfast television produced by Maz & More was nominated for the audience award at the German Television Award. The "Sat.1 Breakfast TV on Saturday" produced by Maz & More was discontinued on September 26, 2009. The weekday evening program “Das SAT.1-Magazin” (from May 2012 “push - Das SAT.1-Magazin”), which has been produced by Maz & More since 2009, was discontinued on October 18, 2012. At the beginning of August 2013, the contract for the production of SAT.1 breakfast television was extended to 2016. On December 9, 2013 it was announced that N24 Media GmbH including Maz & More will be taken over by the Axel Springer Group and will act there as a supplier for moving images.

From May to September 2016 Maz & More produced " Fahndung Deutschland " for the SAT.1 evening program - Germany's first daily crime report.

In the election year 2017, Maz & More designed and produced the 90-minute election show "Election 2017. The 10 most important questions of Germans. Clear text with Claus Strunz" for SAT.1. The top politicians from the Left, Greens, FDP and AfD competed there. The broadcast generated a lot of media coverage.

In addition, Maz & More is also producing two documentaries on the subject of "Beat, steal, grab - how safe is Germany?" From the series "The fact check with Claus Strunz", also in the 2017 election year. as well as "Schuften, Hartzen, evade - how fair is Germany?" and "Fact check special: After the TV duel".

From July 30, 2018 to July 26, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., SAT.1 broadcast the new one-hour early evening format " Finally closing time! " The information show was produced by Maz & More.

Corporate structure

The managing directors of Maz & More TV Produktion GmbH are Torsten Rossmann (Chairman of the Management Board) and, since July 2014, Claus Strunz . Torsten Rossmann will leave the company on August 31, 2020. He will be succeeded by the former RTL boss Frank Hoffmann on September 1, 2020. Maria von Borcke was managing director until December 31, 2014. The editor-in-chief is Jürgen Meschede.
